My New Iwood

I accidently bought a G3 motherboard on E-bay (we all make mistakes). It was to replace the dead board in my blue & white that is working just fine after I removed the bad stick of ram.

So I had a good motherboard with no home. I also had a lot of miscellanous bits and pieces so I connected them together. I had to buy an ATX power supply for $5.00 out of a PC. The cool heat sink on the processor also came from a PC that I had laying around.

Ok so this is not going to work well. I can foresee all kinds of damage occuring to this flimsy arrangement especially now that my son has decided he's a Dad's helper (with a glass of juice in his hand).

What I need is box to put it in. I went out to the shop and commandeered my wife's woodworking tools. Keep in mind that I am lumber illiterate. I hate wood, when you cut it too short you can't weld it back together (glue is just not techy enough). Case in point--the plans for this box was an inch and a half longer than its final size. Final assembly required more creative engineering than originally planned.

The lumber that I choose for this project came from the scrap pile, it seemed fitting to use scraps for such a flotsam and jetsam project. As such some was pre-stained, some was not, besides touching the wife's good lumber would take a braver man than me.

So I showed my project to my wife and she said " gee dear, that looks like Crap!" So she showed me how to use some of her cool wood working tools and I improved it a bit. Click if you want to see it now?
