I had arranged for grandpa to take the kids camping. On saturday I said lets meet them for breakfast so we left at 7:00 and were there by 8:45.
At 11:00 I said that I wanted a Timmy's coffee so off we went heading to Rocky. The wife was getting a bit suspicious that something was up when we headed west after lunch. About half way to saskatchewan river crossing I let her in on the secret.
I had arranged for the animals to be looked after, the kids were looked after, I had called her boss and arranged her holidays back in March, packed her clothes, etc. "happy 20th anniversary."
The intercom fell silent for what felt like an eternity. "Are you still back there?" I asked. "I'm stunned!" was the the answer.
The wife is still in stun mode.

We stopped at the spiral tunnels to watch the train going in and out of the tunnel.
Day 2
Leaving Golden was fairly cool in the morning, 4 degees C but warmed up to high 20s by late afternoon in Merritt.
Day 3
Did the touristy thing at Hells Gate
Just outside of Hope the odometer rolled over to all zeros. Still running strong!
