A new sump pump controller

A very long time ago in a place far far away...... I needed a controller for the sump pump. Being a bit pressed for time at the moment I slapped this together.

I did not receive any happy wife points for asthetics. She wanted it put in a box. "Relax!" I said, "its only temporary." Several years later it was still there and in good working order. My loving wife then began to question how long 'temporary' actually is?

Well anything under 10 years is temporary, isn't it?

Almost 12 years after original install the pump that this was controlling, was dead. The new pump that we purchased was not compatible with this controller. Alas, I had to build a new one but I thought I might build this in a box to start with.

First to find a box that I could use. I found a external CD rom that was not working; it has a built in power supply, perfect.

I even managed to glue the face plate back in place for the completed look.

All it needs now is a shelf to sit on. Fortunately for me shelving is the wife's department.

Funny thing though she tells me the happy wife points I was hoping to procure for future endeavors are also temporary. The question is how long is her "temporary"?
