Well, this week I had a leak on the line that feeds the toilet.
After several attemts at tightening it I felt that dissasembly was necessary.
It had a compession fitting on one end and a lead sealing washer on the other. I cleaned the fitting with stealwool and reassembled....It leaked worse than ever. Quick get the hip waders.
Ok out come the big guns! no holds barred, as long as it holds water.
I took it apart again and cleaned with in an inch of its life. Then I went to the shop and got some 515 that was stol... lif....liberated from work.
515 is a compound that will seal under compression, very well!
I appied the good stuff and tightly assembled, presto no more leak.
My sympathies to the next poor basterd that has to take that apart. Hmmmm wait a minute. Any one want to but a house cheap. Toilet not leaking.
