Well I hope everyone had a good fathers day! Mine was productive/destructive.

A while back I built a new hitch for the car. The car sat a bit low in the back so I built new shackle's for the rear leaves to raise the rear of the car a bit.
Then I thought that I would check the brakes on the trailer. While I was in there I may as well take the axle out and turn it over to get more trailer clearance. This went well but then... the car was too low for the trailer again. (sigh).

So today's project is not about what you have or need but rather what you have lying around that can be modified.
What I did have is a minivan with a dead engine and a good spring on one side. Hmmm.
The Dart needed a little sporty lift to the rear.
Removal of the strut assembly was simple, decompressing the spring was a bit wild. The spring will just about double its size and travels many feet when you let the retainers go, taking along anything that might be semi-attached. I did find all my tools.

At this point all I had to do was cut the spring in half and make a few cute brackets and the job was done.
The car has a few inches of lift and it stiffened it up considerably. Viagra springs!
