The Review!

Lunarsoft has recently released EarthBrowser for $19.95... and I'm awestruck at how such a beautiful, functional program can be made for such value. EarthBrowser by Lunar software displays a gorgeously detailed view of the Earth from space. The 3-D model can be rotated, areas of day and night are updated continuously, you can zoom in and out, choose your viewing location, and if your internet connection is open, all sorts of up to date information will be displayed! Incredible!

The discreet, well designed little control window is how you control your Earth Browser. For example, if you want to show the latest weather information, click the temperature icon. You'll see weather information displayed for major cities, right down to cute little rain animations. Clicking on the weather icons on the display will give you a weather forecast for that city... amazing.

Earth Browser is also a slick educational tool. For example, you can select the very latest information on volcanoes and earthquakes;

For you webcam lovers, Earth Browser displays a constantly updated list of webcams. What's really neat is that when you zoom in on the Earth display, more webcam locations are visible (if you have the little camera icon selected, of course).

If that's not enough for features, Earth Browser can also be your screen saver! You can have Earth Browser take over your whole desktop with its gorgeous display and be right back to your desktop upon mouse movement, if you like. The only suggestion I'd make for improvement is that there should be an option to have the program run in the background, for those that want to use it as screensaver but don't normally want it on the desktop.

On the whole, this is an amazing piece of software. Shell out for this baby, it will be the best 20 bucks you ever spent!
