As the author of the software describes, WaveWindow is a software oscilloscope. By making noises into the computer or external microphone, you get a cool tracing on the computer screen, illustrating amplitude, wavelength, ...the whole bit!
Neat features are also packed into the software... you can focus the tracing, export pictures to the clip board, and pause the tracing. There are also a huge number of appearance choices. One thing I'd like to see added, instead of just having a scale for the horizontal divisions, why not include the ability (option) to automatically calculate frequency and wavelength?
WaveWindow does come with a couple of problems at the moment... it is not compatible with MacOS 8.1, and I've noticed some problems with 8.5 and 8.5.1 as well. System 8 and lower should still work fine with WaveWindow 2.7. Strangely enough, it seems to work OK with system 8.6 and 9.0.
At $12, we are still getting a tremendous bargain - you may want to track someone down by email first before you send money... I sent mine in some time ago and have yet to hear back.
