Although in German, this video is very effective at demonstrating the Faraday cage. The man inside the cage in this video is completely safe, even with 100, 000 volts applied. The surface of the cage is all at the same electric potential, so there is no difference in voltage inside the cage. the man could even reach out and touch both sides, and he would still be OK, because without a voltage difference, current will not flow through his body.
