Carbon Nanotubes Used to Grow Bone

Movie Run Time: 1:12

Carbon nanotubes are one of the strongest and stiffest materials known, so many applications for these nanotbues have focussed on engineering. But what about medicine? It turns out that nanotubes may be an excellent support material for growing bones cells.

The following video explains the exciting application that may, some day in the future, help medicine to grow bone in shapes that would allow people to have "natural" bone replacements.
