Designing a Cell Study Tool

Background:

Learning all the different organelles that are found inside the cell can be a difficult task. It may help to produce a diagram of a plant cell, animal cell or both that will help in your quest to learn all the parts.

There are many different ways you could produce your cell study aid; the diagrams above are just one example. The task could be completed on paper, inside a computer drawing program, in a multimedia program or even as an Internet page.

Task:

Your objective is to produce labeled plant and animal cell diagrams that could be used for study purposes.

Use one of the following methods:

  • Draw your diagrams with pencil and paper.
  • Draw your diagrams with a drawing program.
  • Create your diagram as part of a presentation with programs such as PowerPoint or KeyNote.
  • Create drawings and turn them into web page format.
  • Your teacher may allow you to find cell diagrams on the Internet or in your school library that you can use as your labeling starting point.

Make sure that your diagram is labelled with letters or numbers and that the answers are provided elsewhere. This makes your creation an excellent study tool!

Below is another example of how such a study aide might work. Move the cursor over the question marks to learn the answers.
